Foggy Night at the station

Foggy Night at the station

A thick fog came down one afternoon, and when I went out in the early evening it was still hanging about. The foggy atmosphere made the light interesting so I took this picture on the station.

St Pancras Station for Eurostar Deals

I was at St Pancras Station and it's obvious that Eurostar Deals are making the whole area popular, not just as a terminal for boarding th etrains but for some shopping and refreshment as well.

It was a weekend so its possible that not all these travellers are off to Paris on the Eurostar for business deals but may well be off for a pre christmas break or a spot of Parisian shopping. It won;t be my turn to visit Paris until at least the spring though probably. Last time we went by Eurostar it was just after the new high speed track from St Pancras to Gare du Nord had opened.

London theatre blogged at Joseph theatre breaks on London theatre blog. I'm not sure if the show will continue in the Adelphi after January next year or not. Lee Mead finishes then, but auditions could be taking place for a replacement Joseph.

Millenium Bridge in the rain

Designed by Sir Norman Foster this sleek, 330m steel footbridge spans the Thames between St Paul's Cathedral in the City and the Tate Modern Gallery at Bankside. When it opened in June 2000 it became London’s first new Thames crossing in more than 100 years. Its early years were beset by problems – the most serious of which was the excessive swaying which became a characteristic feature of every crossing. Having identified the source of the problem as “people walking the wrong way” the bridge was finally re-opened to the public in February 2002. It now forms a stunning architectural feature, providing a great access route across the Thames and linking up many of London’s riverside attractions. Also known as:
'The Wobbly Bridge' or 'Blade of Light'.
